Anniversary Events
As this site is compiled, the tear 2002 draws to a close. In this year we have celebrated 850 years since the founding of Kirkstall Abbey. Kirkstall Abbey is Britain's finest early monastic ruin.
Events so far:
Service of Commemoration. Sunday May 19th 2002. The service and concert featuring music provided by the Leeds College of Music Band, directed by John Large.
A Living History Event Saturday and Sunday, May 25th and 26th 2002.

Bat Watch at the Abbey Thursday 27th June in the Abbey ruins.
Guided tours of the Abbey June 29th, August 10th and September 28th.
Kirkstall Festival Saturday 13th July. The theme is "Abbey Birthday."
