Burley Village Community Association

Inaugural Annual General Meeting

7pm, Tuesday 3rd March 2015

Burley Greenhow Community Centre, Haddon Road

(Immediately following the Burley Police PACT meeting which starts at 7pm)

A new community Association is being formed in this area, membership will be free and open to all residents. The group will concentrate on the area between Argie Avenue and Kirkstall Road, including the Haddon’s, Greenhows, St Matthias’s & Woodsides and work with other community groups in the area eg. Benefits of a Community Association:

  • Stronger voice together regarding services, planning, issues
  • Community cohesion, social events
  • Community involvement to improve the area, eg. planting, community clean-ups
  • Ability to attract funding through grants not available to public bodies

What’s happening on 3rd March?

Police PACT meeting (7pm)

Are you concerned about crime or any other issue affecting your community that you feel we could help with, or need to be aware of? Why not come and let us know at our local Partners And Communities Together meetings.

Speeding, Rat runs and Traffic Calming

There has been concern raised about speeding and rat running around the Haddon Road / Argie Avenue area. A highways officer from Leeds City Council Highways department will be in attendance to speak and answer questions.

Burley Village Community Association Inaugural AGM

There have been a couple of informal meetings, and we now want to moved forward and be formally recognised. To do this we need to hold an inaugural Annual Meeting to elect officers and adopt a constitution. It has been suggested the association be called “Burley Village Community Association”.

Time to get involved!
