Burley Model Allotments Secures New Grant

welcomeBurley Model Allotments, which are situated just off Beechwood Crescent, have recently benefited from a Community Development Foundation grant. More on this to be reported soon, however if you are unaware of Burley Model Allotments, read on for an overview. 

About Burley Model Allotments

Burley Model Allotments is a large self-managed society run by volunteers. There is a Committee that run the site and manage the lettings of plots as well as organising the Annual Vegetable and Flower Show. They also run seed and plant swap meetings. Click here to visit Annual show. The committee also run the Trading Hut and ensure that stock is available for members to buy at the lowest available cost. They are affiliated to Leeds and District Gardener’s Federation and the National Society of Leisure Gardeners.

What they have to offer

This large Allotment site is one of the secret treasures of the Burley/Headingley area, please feel free to come and enjoy it with them. They are able to grow their own fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers in a lovely site of in the centre of the City which can raise spirits and also make the digging a bit lighter. Members are generous with advice, support, plants and chat which make the gardening fun even for novices. The plots are rented and there is a annual membership charge.
