St. Gemma’s Hospice has a just a few limited number of fundraising places left for the highly prestigious Great North Run, which takes place this year on Sunday 15th September 2013.
The Great North Run is the one of the world’s most popular and iconic half marathons, with its route taking you between the city streets of Gateshead in Newcastle to the picturesque coastal finish in South Shieldswith plenty of live music and ‘bands on the run’ to keep you motivated every step of the way! If you choose to join St Gemma’s Hospice team, you will be making a vital contribution to the running costs of St. Gemma’s Hospice, which currently stand at £23,500 per day.
Leading up to the event, they will provide you with training tips, a free High-spec St. Gemma’s Hospice running vest and lots of fundraising support and advice. On the day of the event, they will have a marquee at the finish line, where you will receive hot and cold refreshments, snacks, and most importantly, a well-deserved sports massage to ease any aches and pains after such a fabulous achievement.
In 2012, St Gemma’s Hospice Great North Run team raised over £40,000 between them. Sign up now and let’s see if you can raise even more in 2013!

Entry to the Great North Run 2013 costs just £50 per person. They also ask that each individual sets their sponsorship target at £300. There is plenty of time between now and September to raise the money you would need and you will probably find that you’re able to raise in excess of this amount too.
