Beginners Running Group Starting in Kirkstall

Run England LogoA new beginners running group has started in Kirkstall, for complete beginners or those returning to running after a long lay off. The aim is to train to be able to run the Apperley Bridge Canter 10K in May without walking, but at whatever speed. From there the running world is your oyster! You would be welcome to move in to the “main” Kirkstall Harriers group, go it alone, or up the distance or speed, train for another event, or work at maintaining that level for general fitness.

I am a qualified Run England leader (and a first aider!) and a runner of (too) many years experience. The group will meet every Wednesday at 5.50pm for a 6pm run in the reception area at Kirkstall Leisure Centre.

The group is free to join and all we need are some basic personal details. However if you are under any doubt as to whether you should run please consult your doctor! Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing and footwear, remembering to wear reflective or hi-vis gear if the nights are still dark.

If you would like to join please visit Run England or email Jill at stoxy78@hotmail.com.

See you there!
