TCV – Get Fit With Fresh Aire Workouts

February 4th, 2013 | Posted by Jenny.Budd in Sport

Like many of us, you have probably resolved to start 2013 with a fad diet and a grueling gym schedule. Gym membership can be prohibitively expensive and the same old exercises a little repetitive, not to mention the smelly equipment and buff competition!

A new initiative by The Conservation Volunteers aims to change the way in which people have access to exercise facilities. Green Gyms use the environment to improve your strength and stamina, boosting your practical skills and confidence and benefitting your local green spaces. Run by experienced leaders, they guide you through a range of practical projects, giving you the opportunity to tackle physical jobs in the outdoors, They are a great way to get fit, enjoy the fresh air and improve your local environment all at the same time.

What’s more, membership is free!

Visit the TCV website to get your fitness ball rolling and find a Green Gym in the Kirkstall area. TCV Green Gyms

TCV say:

“The countryside is more than beautiful scenery, it also reduces stress, boosts your mood and recharges your batteries with natural energy.

Taking part in conservation work gives a real sense of achievement so, even if a Green Gym is not for you perhaps volunteering on one of our many projects is guaranteed to make you feel fabulous.”
